Hello All,

I need to be able to get the GUI of a Windows 2000 PC application displayed
on a Solaris 8 display. Ideally just the GUI of the app in question
not the entire desktop.

I've tried Citrix and it works fine but I understand that this is
a rather pricy option.

What are my other options ? Specific suggested apps would be best ?

Thanks in advance.

Get rdesktop and compile it on your system. The remote desktop
server must be running on the Win machine. Another option is
VNC.

Isn't that "remote desktop server" Citrix WinFrame/MetaFrame?

Doesn't VNC export the whole desktop, not just a single app's window?

Yes it does, but if you don't have another option...

Rdesktop supports RDP, which is what MS's "terminal services" uses.
