| Hi,
I was wondering if I install gentoo and debian linux on a computer,
can both of them use the same swap partition or do I have to setup 2
separate swap partitions - one for each linux OS?
Thanks in advance as always,
Rob

I share /swap with redhat and mandrake with no problem.

Swap is used by the currently booted O/S.
You can only run 1 O/S at any one time without some some of VM system.
Linux distros don't have multi-boot at the same time VM systems.
Therefore no problem using the same space as swap
