Author mysqld processes grow/accumulate

My mysql (mysqld) processes were 10M each 4 days ago. Now, each
process is 74M! How is that? How can I stop it?

Server is 1.3 Celeron 1G RAM RHEL Unix

This is normal for virtual memory systems. Applications memory
allocation grow and shrink unless they're broken and have a memory leak.
If you suspect such, post to the mysql groups and find out what they say.
