| Hello all,
I attached my HP2200d laser jet to the parallel port on my dell box
running Red Hat 7.2. On running "dmesg" I got -
parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778) [PCSPP,TRISTATE,COMPAT,EPP,ECP]

parport0: Printer, Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet 2200
The printer was installed on /dev/lp0 and dmesg identified that the
printer was correctly recognized. Then I installed the print queue
usind the printconf-gui utility. I called the queue hp2200. Finally I
sent a print job to this queue and the job never appeared on the
printer.
Running lpstat, I got -
[rmitra@spider rmitra]$ lpstat
Printer: hp2200@localhost (dest hp2200@localhost)
Queue: 2 printable jobs
Server: no server active
Status: hp2200: Open_dgbm: open of DB file 'db.hp2200' failed, File
open error
at 12:57:53.786
