Please forgive me if this ends up posted twice.....

Does anyone know if vsfptd can be configured so that "ls <file name>"
returns the file name if the file name exists?

I believe that wuftpd, by default, returns "foo.bar" when "ls foo.bar"
is issued if foo.bar exists. This behaviour occurs even though "ls"
alone returns nothing and the directory is not readable.

The only way I can get vsftpd to return the file name is if the
directory is readable. And, of course, then "ls" returns the names of
all files in the directory.

Thank you for any help.
