Dear experts,

I have a tape which was clone a server with make_tape_recovery in HP unix.
Please advise how to extract the files/directories list from the tape.
Thank you in advance!

Start by carrying the tape to a Unix box that has another vendor that
supplis "tcopy", or download a port of "tcopy". Then use tcopy to tell
you how many files are on the tape, what their blocksizes are, and how
big they are. Once you know that you'll be able to space to a likely
file on the tape and try various tools on it. But since the
make_tape_recovery format on tape uses several files in at least two
formats, you'll need to know at least how many files there are.

Lacking tcopy, you can use "dd" and download each of the files on the
tape to disk and use assorted tools on them from disk.
