Hello,

Our SunFire 6800 server is currently running Solaris 8 and Veritas VM
3.5-mp3. Our management console is a SunBlade 100 which runs Solaris 8
also. All along, we use the CAT5 serial cable (RJ45 jack at both end)
for connection to domain/platform, specifically, 9pin-female connector
(back of SunBlade) to 25pin conctor (at "A" slot in SC0 back of
SunFire). It's been working fine until now. Our prompts just sits
there after "tip hardwire" command as below :

mgnt-console # tip hardwire
connected

:
: < prompt just sits there ; no response
from RETURN key>
: <no domain/platform menu >
:
~.
[EOT]

mgnt-console #

There was no physical change to the above serial connection or
/etc/remote file. We've tried to reseat the connectors at both ends of
the serial cable but to no avail.
Any ideas how we can resolve this.

Thanks,

Humphrey
