I am a newbie. Could you please tell me how to install the sfx file?

You are going to have to be more specific, I'm afraid. On what operating
system are you running, and what self extracting package are you attempting
to install?

On Redhat Linux, I need to install a file with extension of sfx. Could
you please tell me what would be a command to run this kind of files?

There is no (to my knowledge) standard for a file extension of "sfx".
Remember that in UNIX-like operating systems, such as Linux, file types
are determined by what is _in_ the file, not what the extension is. "sfx"
indicates that the file is likely a "SelF eXtracting" archive of some sort
or another, however, I have never seen files with that extension, and so
in _your case_ I don't know what to tell you, specifically.
Try running the "file" command on it:
$ file sfxfile.sfx
And see if that gives you something useful to go on. The Right Thing™ is
not something that I can just tell you over here, since I don't know what
it is in your situation. Sometimes, they are shell scripts that extract
and install something, other times they are ELF binaries. Who knows.
In any case, try also granting it execute permission and running it. Note
that I wouldn't do that if you don't trust the distributor of the file,
regardless. (IOW, if there is another way to get what it is that you want
out of that file, I would use that; however I am just paranoid.)
Details are of the essence here: If you want help on something, state
what it is and what you've tried, and what you've discovered. It will be
more likely that someone will step up and offer assistance to you in the
future.

| Hi,
..sfx files ae flash player files, is the extension for shockwave flash.
normally it will run on web browsers.
i not sure this files will run on Linux/unix, but i damn sure it will
run on widows I.E.
u can also check the adobe web site for linux / unix versions.
