Hi All,

I have data( SAS datasets) which is spread across different
folders and subfolders
( around 120 GB).

Now I zipped all my SAS Datasets and now folder shows around
8.5 GB.

0K ./crao/odsrej
53M ./crao/ccg_gem
155K ./crao/DFR/codes/codes_V2
213K ./crao/DFR/codes/codes_V1
32K ./crao/DFR/codes/bk
401K ./crao/DFR/codes
18K ./crao/DFR/reports
1.6G ./crao/DFR/datasets/bk
3.2G ./crao/DFR/datasets
3.2G ./crao/DFR
7.3M ./crao/others
30K ./crao/NewCodes/codes/old_bk
201K ./crao/NewCodes/codes/bk
324K ./crao/NewCodes/codes
7K ./crao/NewCodes/datasets
332K ./crao/NewCodes
9.5M ./crao/acq/test
229K ./crao/acq/WeeklyAcq/codes
7.3M ./crao/acq/WeeklyAcq/datasets
7.5M ./crao/acq/WeeklyAcq
24M ./crao/acq
1K ./crao/perl
208K ./crao/RSF
175K ./crao/APMIS
0K ./crao/mrktCell/test
177M ./crao/mrktCell
59K ./crao/NewCodesV1
79K ./crao/DailyReports/codes
80K ./crao/DailyReports
295K ./crao/Oper
1K ./crao/reissue
8.4G ./crao/DSS2
41G ./crao

Here I see the folder "crao" of data 41 GB. But what I see if I summ up
the subfolders...it is NOT of 41GB.

What is the reason for this? Just want to know how unix/solaries will
save the data when we zip files.

Thanks in advance.
Chandu.

Are there files in the 'crao' directory itself?
