Hi

I have a Sun V240 machine setup such that its bge0 ethernet interface
is connected via a cross-over cable to a PC.

In my test setup, I have the V240 machine running Solaris 9 12/03. In
this setup, I can always ping the PC from the Solaris machine.
In my production setup, I have the same machine (with a different
disk) running Solaris 9 8/03. In this environment, the V240 machine is
not always able to ping the PC. In fact, once it stops being able to
ping the PC, it has to be cold-booted again before it does.

In both cases, I have set the bge0 ethernet device on the V240 such
that the card's speed it set up to 100 MBit and full duplex. For all
other speeds and duplexes, I have disabled them. I have also turned
auto-negotiation off.

Has anyone seen this before or know what might be wrong? I cannot
upgrade my production environment to Solaris 9 12/03.

Thanks for your help.
Mike.
