Hi -

I am currently working at a site that is going through a data center
move. I am not very familiar with Amanda. (noob) Due to network
issues, the machine running amanda has not been able to reliably run
back up for many days. It was on a 20 tape 4 week rotation using
tapes 1-5, 6-10,11-15,16-20, with an additional tape for each weekend,
that is not rotated. So each week it writes to tape.001, tape002. tape.
003. tape.004, tape.005, and a Weekendtape.001/.002/.003 etc. The
tapes should change on Monday morning, using the next 5 tapes in the
rotation set, and creating a new weekend tape (tape 6).

At this point the desire is to catch up and get the tape sets back in
rotation. It appears that old work is queueing up, and the volume to
be written is exceeding the single tape per day volume.

Can someone recommend a way (good or best) to get the tapes back in
sync, even if we have to start the tape rotation from scratch? This
would also include (as a possible option) clearing out all backup
file backlogs, even going to deletion and or copy to /dev/null. The
gravity changer is located at another site right now, so I have to
make what changes I can by SSH across the WAN.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Doug
