Unix Programming - Output from pmap

Hi!
I am using pmap to see address space of process and it is showing
me some output. I run the process with LD_DEBUG with option "files"
and see the output (link map), the size field that is given here
doesn't match with output from pmap. For ex. for a shared obj a.so,
pmap shows it as occupying 32K. But size field of link map from
LD_DEBUG gives a hex no, which is 88K. What's the reason for this
discrepancy?
