Please post the original URL, if possible:
o it's better to have the original URL instead of some
arbitrary shorthand, because it has a higher
recognition value
o Most people reading news already have a client enabling
them to directly go to an URL. Who still has to enter the
URL manually?

Many sites use ridiculous five-line URLs. These often get seriously
munged by some news readers.

Agreed. But often the URLs only get long because of session
ids that can just be removed.

But it is not easy to see at a glance what can be removed, and
what is necessary.
I prefer to post both the full URL and a shorthand URL; the best
of both worlds.
