Hi

I'd like to know if anyone is aware of a way to use a readline()
function within an ncurses environment, and still to see characters
printed to the screen while they are typed in.

I'd like to get a better getstr() function. The readline function works
fine, ie: you can read the prompt, and type the string (use arrows...)
but the problem is that you can't see what you're typing!

The ncurses faq doesn't help much (quotation of the readline source):

thanks for you help.
fred

not really (readline should have been rewritten; apparently no one who
understands its design issues is willing to do so)
