Difference between fvwm2 and fvwm??

does somebody call it fvwm2?

When fvwm made transition from 1.xx series to 2.xx series,
its name was changed to fvwm2 to enable people to install both
1.xx and 2.xx versions side by side and have an easier time
during the transition.
Now that the 1.xx is ancient history, there is no reason to keep
the "2" at the end of fvwm2. In recent releases the window
manager is called fvwm (without the "2"). However the command
fvwm2 continues to be provided for backward compatibility.

No way! When I used fvwm 2-3 years ago, I strongly preferred 1.24
(IIRC) to version 2, which looked very bloated and complicated
(this doesn't mean that I consider more than 2MB bloat).
