| Is there a way to get the list of all open handles on a perticular
system. I can sue both a single command or a programatic solution.

Look at http://freshmeat.net/projects/lsof/ ,
There is probably other options specific to a given system as well.

Pointing out a typo? That sounds strongly like it would be prohibited
under the DMCA! Aren't posts copyrighted by their author, and
mentioning the typo like pointing at a big, fat, gaping security hole?
