Unix Programming - interrupts

hello,
I am confused with software and hardware interrupts and also
what are top half and bottom half interrupts and differene between
them. can anyone help to explain me. i did google search but i got some
old links and i am not sure whether kernel internals has changed from
1996 or not?because links i got from linux journal.

You might like reading Understaning Linux Kernel book, it discusses the
subject in details.
