I am porting an old X application to new hardware.

I am looking for a PCI or PMC graphics adapter
that has support for more than 1 colormap in
hardware.

My target OS audience is Linux or Solaris x86.

You can tell how many hardware colormaps are
supported by your X server by running the
command:

xdpyinfo | grep maps

If you see that more than "maximum 1" are
supported by your PCI or PMC graphics adapter,
please post your manufacturer and model.
