Unix Programming - stuck with SPLINT

Hello,

I have a simple code on RedHat 8.0 which includes <netinet/ip.h>. And splint
chokes on the including line:

%splint +posixlib t.c
Splint 3.0.1.6 --- 27 May 2002

usr/include/netinet/ip.h:31:13: Parse Error. (For help on parse errors, see
splint -help parseerrors.)
*** Cannot continue.

The line 'splint' stuck on is:

u_int8_t len;

I followed instructions from 'splint -help parseerrors' and enclosed the
code as follows:

@-skipposixheaders@
#include <netinet/ip.h>
@=skipposixheaders@

but it didn't help. What's the reason of such behavior and how to proceed?
