Hello Everybody,

I would like to find out the proxy server used by lynx for connecting to
internet. I know that to change it we have to change lyxn.cfg file by
changing parameter http_proxy. but now, I want to find out what is the
current proxy server.

Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Pravin

What does it say in the current lynx.cfg? If you are installing lynx
for the first time, check the config files of other browsers, or ask
your internet provider. You might not need a proxy server unless you
are behind a firewall.

Dear Bill,

Thanks for reply. lynx.cfg just has http_proxy as some default junk
entry like http://someserver.com but I guess it is not enabled. Which I
need to change if I want new proxy server to be set.

Sometime I have to work on network where I can access my login server
through intra-net, but can't access internet. I am trying to configure
my browser to connect my proxy server. Now on my login server I can type
lynx and do surfing. I am just one step away from connecting to proxy
server staright. The problem is I don't know what it is. I did ask
systems people but they didn't tell. So now, I am trying to figure out
if there is any command which will allow me to find IP of proxy used by
lynx. I tried netstat, but doesn't help. route print doesn't work since
I dont' have privilages. So seeing lynx.cfg and asking provider have
turned as failed attempt. Now I need to find it by someother way. Can
you help me? Please...
