| Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to print over TCP/IP in Unix
using direct printing instead of spooling.

Certainly there is a way. All your program has to do is duplicate the way that
the spooler uses TCP/IP to communicate with the printer, and do it yourself.
This is /not/ a good idea, but there's nothing in the rules that says that we
have to (or even can) stop you from using bad ideas.
You might want to read up on network printing, and look into libraries that
implement network printing APIs; this might simplify your efforts a bit. In any
case, look for doc (and RFCs) on
- - SMB printing (for "Microsoft file and print sharing" shared printers),
- - Netware printing (for Novell Netware shared printers),
- - Berkeley LPD, and
- - Internet Printing Protocol
