Author Posts From Google

Almost every posted question on this group these days comes
from google.

Every single OP that's up right now was from google.

This is WEIRD.

Google is the worst possible way to access the Usenet, and
you'd think that people involved in shell programming would
be the LAST people to use it.

Not really .. maybe you're behind the times and ought to consider a web
mail like gmail to manage your usenet usage. It's a few gigabyte
better than working with a dial up connection in thunderbird IMHO.

To me, it's worse to download all the messages over dialup and then
have to manage the spam. Google is the way if you were using web mail!
gmail is up to about 50,000 users already .. have you tried it yet?

Nothing makes a person happier than freely giving of good will. Try
it, you'll like it. Or maybe you just need a break. Try a walk in the
woods.

Wow, the OP talks about accessing news and you reply about Email. Strange.
But the behind the times person is the dial-up person. My Email is
downloaded (actually sent to me as the senders SMTP server sends it),
processed for spam (since I never post my Email address anywhere, I really
get no spam), ready and waiting for me on my own server. The big benefit,
as far as I am concerned? My Email is not sitting on some server at google
where it can be scanned for key words or read by some board sys-admin.

AFAIK the real reason is pretty simple, AOL closed their nntp
access and to keep people from getting they don't have real
internet access at all, aol recommended users to use google.

Well, by your frequently and superciliously announced policy,
it keeps _you_ from providing answers to their questions.

Did it occur to you that maybe it is _deliberate_, and for that reason?

I see that the usual assholes have stopped by to post their
juvenile taunts.

Like too many of the people that post on the Usenet, they
actually seem to believe that everyone has to read their
posts.

And cares what they think.

Which makes them STUPID assholes.

Guess what?

I post what I want, where I want, and when I want, and
you can't do anything about it.

Nor can you make me read your posts.

Really. Trust me here.

To me, your posts are just like dogshit on the sidewalk.
I step around or over it and go about my business.

Have a day.

Connard, a wild exaggeration like that invalidates your view.
