Before I begin, I'll mention the problem is trivial with Perl.
Mail::Sendmail and I'm good to go. But I'm curious if a solution can be
had in kornshell, and if so, how would you do it.

Situation: A server running postfix has a lot of mail in the incoming
queue. Bosses want an -email- alert from this server. Yes, I told them
a server with a clogged incoming queue isn't going to be delivering
mail. There is also this problem of load.. but..

Proposed Solution: have the script that detects the large quantity of
mail email an alert through a second server.

Yes, we have some outbound relays that could do the trick. Just, last I
looked, /bin/mail worked with the local server instance which in this
case is all mucked up.

Any useful suggestions appreciated.

David.
