Hi!

I'm writing to this forum concerning a problem I have about snmpd
daemon.

I've developed an application using a propietary software to develop
subagents following a Master agent / Subagent architecture. Problem
arises when I try to substitute propietary Master agent with that
included in TRU64 ( snmpd ). In that case, I cannot perform the
application to work properly, probably because propietary subagents
cannot connect to standard daemon snmpd. I think, but not completely
sure, that my development kit supports AgentX architecture. If so, I
don't understand why this connection is not working. do I have to
configure standard snmpd daemon in some way in order to allow
subagents to connect to standard snmpd ?. Is it possible the problem
is because I need a specific patch?.

Summarizing, I would like anybody to tell me whether the problem is
because of configuration of snmpd, due to a patch a need or whatever
it is.

I would like to ask also if anybody knows a freeware software that I
could use to develop subagents which supports AgentX architecture in
order to use standardd snmpd daemon as Master agent. I would like to
avoid to deal with problems of ASN1, snmp coding frames and all those
things.

Thank you vary much in advance:
