| I want to setup a time server using windows2000' time service and
allow an tru64 5.1a to use it to sync the time.
so, i started "windows time" service atfer edited registry "LocalNTP"
to "1" for NTP server roll.
i tried to sync time on tru64 system.
system displayed follow error message.
# ntpdate -d -q -u 192.168.2.2

I believe Win2K (and other Wins) is using SNTP - Simple NTP. I don't
think ALpha can synch to that. I know I've tried...

Yes, *DON'T* even think of using windoze to do this. Use the ntp
that comes with T64, or get a current copy from ntp.org and use
that. Windoze time keeping has all the quality we have come to expect
from the bilster.
