| Hi,
I posted this question a while ago and didn't get an answer and since I've
not yet figured out the problem I thought I'd try again.
I bought a new flat panel display with a native resolution of 1280x1024. The
monitor works fine however my desktop background refuses to use the whole
space and appears to be stuck in 1024x768 mode. If I selected an image for
the background, the image is scaled to 1024x768 and an outer edge of the
image is cropped and scaled to fill the remaining edges of the desktop at
1280x1024. Even if I select the background to be a gradient scaled color, a
"frame" of the selected color appears around the center 1024x768 portion of
the desktop.
This appears to only be a problem with the background. The rest of the
window manager works fine and displays everything correctly. Is there
somewhere that I have to set the resolution of the background or desktop for
gnome window manager to be configured correctly? The specific version I'm
referring to is redhat 7.3.
Thanks in advance.
Bryan
