Author Error in Up2Date

Hi,

I've been quite diligent in keeping my systems current with all patches
and have recently run into a problem with the up2date program.

This is a RedHat 9 on intel.

NOTE: see output below if you want to skip this description.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM:
If I un up2date GUI or text, I get an error stating that one of the
packages that needs to be installed requires another package that is LESS
THAN or EQUAL TO a given version. I check the installed package and find
that the package is identical to the one listed as a dependency. I've
reinitialized and rebuilt the RPM database and there's no change in
output. Up2Date fails.

Can anyone help me navigate this one?

Cheers,

~Doug

ALSO: It appears that there is a direct correlation between leaving email
addresses on newsgroups (reply to) and massive virus infections.
