Thanks for the responses, everyone.

Update: I removed the 256MB PC133 stick from the third slot and it's been
stable - if low on memory - ever since. I plan on using one of the memory
testing programs mentioned on this thread to test the suspect memory for
errors. Most likely that's the problem.
