Author xset +dpms "unsets" itself...

I just recently starting having this problem, and I don't understand why.

I have an EnergyStar monitor (Viewsonic PF790) on my RH9.0 box.

In the past the monitor would alway go in to power save mode without me
having to do anything.

But, recently it quit. So I manually enter "xset +dpms" and it starts
working again.

After a few days, something "unsets" the +dpms setting.

Has anyone seen this?

every time you login.

xset dpms 1800 2400 3600
xset +dpms
