I can't get mp3 or ogg files to work with xmms player.
I am using RH 9.0 with apt-get.
I have xmms-mp3 and libogg installed.
Wave seems to be all it will play.
I haven't found any thing in the manual to help yet.
I know I'm missing something real basic.

Is in the xmms setting dialog under audio-I/O-plugins listed and active
for use?

libmpg123.so
libvorbis.so

Don't use Red Hat's broken xmms use the newer working one found here;

http://www.xmms.org/download.php

Don't forget to get the input plugins while visiting the above site.

You should remove the xmms-mp3 plugin (it's not needed) before starting
the update.
