Greetings:

I am running the Gnome GUI on Red Hat Linux 9, and I have the following
problem: I can't persuade Gnome-Pilot to sync with my Palm IIIxe through
its serial port cable (I am not using a cradle, just the hot sync cable
that came with the Palm Pilot). What happens is that the Palm Pilot goes
to the HotSync screen when I push the HotSync cable button, but nothing
else happens until the Palm Pilot times out. I get a message to the
effect that the connection cannot be found. It works just fine on my
dual-boot MS Windows 98 system on the same PC, but I'm trying to wean
myself from Windows usage....

Regards, Ron Barry.
