i am new to network settings and need some help:

the following link takes me through the costum installation of fedora core http://www.cs.wcupa.edu/~rkline/fc1...os-install.html , and i understood everything until i got stuck at the network settings:

how do i know what netmask, gateway, IP address, primary DNS, secondary DNS to use? i am quite puzzled!!!

or it says something about machines=

worf, riker... WHAT????

as well as

what does the last octave mean??

all i want is to use my computer for hosting my websites!

could somebody please help me???
