Grub's busted - Help!

| I have dual boot WinXP/RedhatRC4 thats been working fine.
All of a sudden I get a grub error:
Error 18 : Selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by BIOS
when I try to boot.
I can see my files from Knoppix so I know the disk isn't completely
fried.
Does anyone know how I can repair grub from Knoppix or some other
way so that I can boot again? I didn't repartion, change the boot
loader params, or even update redhat for several months.
Thanks

| I'm far from an expert, but I've just had a grub problem myself. You can
make a grub boot floppy or CD and work from that. I printed out man
grub, some of it was a bit over my head, but the boot floppy works. The
grub manual also includes all the error codes.
If you can't get to the "man" pages on your computer, there's a version
online at the grub site.
Does sound very odd, can you boot XP, if so grub itself is probably OK.
