Hi,

Some years back I remeber that in Redhat 8 one could create a bootdisk, and
boot into the linux installation on the harddisk -from the floppy. Can't see
that this possibility is present in Fedora 5.I can't find "mkbootdisk" in
the linux installation.

Is there actually a way to boot linux without installing the GRUB loader?

Thank you!

Hi,

dunno how this is for FC5, but mkbootdisk is in FC4 repositories.
Just do the following as root:

yum install mkbootdisk

Then you should get what you want.
Although I never used that soft, I hope, I could help you.
