Hello everyone,

I'm trying to use Yum to make sure my system is up to date but a
previous problem while upgrading seems to have thrown off a few things.
Here's what's happening:

[root@olst root]# yum update
Gathering package information from servers
Getting headers from: Red Hat Linux 8.0 base
Getting headers from: Red Hat Linux 8.0 updates
Finding updated packages
Downloading needed headers
Resolving dependencies
.....identical dependency loop exceeded
package XFree86 needs XFree86-xfs = 4.2.1-21 (not provided)
package XFree86 needs XFree86-xfs = 4.2.1-21 (not provided)
package XFree86 needs XFree86-xfs = 4.2.1-21 (not provided)
package XFree86 needs XFree86-xfs = 4.2.1-21 (not provided)
package XFree86 needs XFree86-xfs = 4.2.1-21 (not provided)
package XFree86 needs XFree86-xfs = 4.2.1-21 (not provided)

So I tried to provide it :

[root@olst root]# rpm -ivh XFree86-xfs-4.2.1-21.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################
###
[100%]
package XFree86-xfs-4.2.1-21 is already installed

I'm sort of lost here. Any idea what is happening?

Thanks,
P
