I am using the same computer ( 1 Mb Video Card) & monitor IBM 8514
Using Caldera 2.3 1999 version I can achieve a screen of 1024 whateva
using an inetrlaced setting of 87 Hz 8 ppp 35.5. KHz & 44.9 Mhz
(preset menu selection, not typed in as custom) .

But on the 2003 verisons of Redhat 9 or Mandrake 9.1 I cannot get more
than 800 by 600 because I have no option to set an interlaced setting.
This sucks. A 1999 version setting is better than 2003 version setting ?
Anyway around this ?
Becuse 800 by 600 sucks . In KDE the menus exceed screen size & pain to
play with
Don't tell me to buy a new video card I don't want to because
as you can see this is a software issue.
Also this is my spare computer so I don't care
Also I can buy new (older)computer better than I have for $100
& video cards alone are $20 to $50 on ebay
