| Hello.
I just installed the latest kernel update form Red Hat (2.4.20-18) on my RH
7.3 box. When I tried to run 'insmod' on the newly compiled bcm4400 module
(driver for the Gigabit Ethernet adaptor built into P4PE motherboard), it
went into the "kernel panic" mode, forcing me to hard-reboot the machine.
I followed the standard 'make' procedure by going into the "src"
subdirectory, running "make," and then running "insmod bcm4400.o" as root.
This procedure worked for all the older versions of the kernel I'd
installed, such as 2.4.18-24 and 2.4.18-27. I've been out of luck with
2.4.20-18. Does anyone happen to know a workaround? (The original version
of the driver I downloaded from ASUS's web site was 1.0.1. I also obtained
2.0.2. They both have the same "kernel panic" problem, though.)
TIA,
Dai
