RH9 and speedtouch modem question

I recently installed rh9 on my computer, I have a dual boot along with
winMe. I have been able to configure all the other hardware, but I have
tried unsucessfully to use my usb dsl modem to ceonnect to the web.
I have downloaded the driver and followed the included HowTo, I also used
another tutorial I found on the web.
As far as I can tell the driver and ppp are all set correctly, along with
all the passwords.
Anybody get this done sucessfully? Or does anybody know a real newbie
tutorial for this?
