2.1AS and csh

Ok, I've just finished installing 2.1AS, everything. I created an account
with /bin/csh as the shell. When I login with that account, I get a:
root: Command not found.
root: Undefined variable.
[localhost@host1~]$

I can type csh from here and it works fine, but I can't login with it.
Why?
