XMMS "pause" button stops everything!

I can be playing back .MP3 files and hit the pause button on XMMS and if
I try to launch something else nothing will happen until I continue
playback on XMMS.

That is one powerful Pause Button. I haven't seen something like that
since the front panel switches on PDP/11's or DG Eclipse mini-computers!

Any idea's where to start?
