Author Help in getting USB port working

I can't boot with out the nousb switch. Can someone give me a
step-by-step on how to do this in rh9?

I have a Compaq 1215us notebook...

Turn off the kudzu service, as root; /sbin/chkconfig --level 345 kudzu off
