Hi,

Can anybody get xcin to work under GB environment?

This is the first time I tried xcin. I was able to get it working in
Big5 environment, like this:

LC_CTYPE=zh_TW.Big5; export LC_CTYPE
XMODIFIERS="@im=xcin"; export XMODIFIERS
xcin &

then,

gedit &

I can switch to Chinese input mode in this Big5 environment. However,
when I tried to do the same thing under the GB environment, I failed:

LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.GB2312
XMODIFIERS="@im=xcinGB"
xcin -x xcinGB -v 3 &

then,

gedit &

I get a gedit error,

(gedit:2960): Gtk-WARNING **: Loading IM context type 'xim' failed

and I am not able to switch Chinese input mode on.

I'm using the xcin right out of box from RH8 (xcin-2.5.3.pre3-6). What
twist should I do in order to get it working?

Thanks
