Hi Group

I have managed to install redhat9 onto my server, which is hosting to the
web using Apachie.. works a treat
However, I wanted to update the server pages via a windows box.. Hmmm

At first the Redhat could see the winboxes ok, and I can rummage about in
the shares, but i could not see redhat from windows98/XP/XP-Home boxes,
Since then I have started SAMBA, cool, now i can see all the comps on the
lan and access all comps, even the folder on the redhat that I wish to
update from the windows box.. but, for the life of me I cannot get the
rights to write to the folder.

I have added users to the SAMBA server, and made sure that I have ticked
write read etc...
What is it that I have missed?

Thanks in advance
Alan

I have managed to gain read and write access by starting ftp on the server,

Now I can use my ftp programe on XP-Home to update my sites contents.
However, via windows XP-Home,in Windows Explorer or at the Command prompt, I
still am unable to write files to the redhat server shared folders.
