Gnome Terminal opens without prompt

Hi,

I rebooted into RedHat 9.0 and found, as a non-root user, Gnome Terminal
stopped properly working. The Terminal window opens but no prompt is
presented.

Anyone had and solved such a problem?

Logged-into Gnome as root, no problem.

I think an improper reboot (I pulled the plug

) was the cause.
