I'm running RH9 on an IBM X20 laptop.

I have two laptops, the other one is running XP (for work purposes only :-)

The X20 is a recent purchase and for while I was sharing the same Netgear
wireless card between the two machines.

This was getting on my nerves so I bought a very cheap and cheerful ATMEL
wireless card which I decided to put in the X20 as the Netgear is a lot more
compact and suites the other laptop better.

Managed to get the ATMEL card to work okay in the X20 under RedHat bar one
very bizarre problem.

If the card is present when the laptop is booted up - X Windows fails so
show - I just get a blank screen.

I then have to power off the laptop remove the card, start the laptop, log
in and then insert the card.

This is just as annoying as sharing the same wireless card between the two
laptops.

The only error I see in the system logs appears in the XFree86 Log which
says :-

"X: client 4 rejected from local host"

1) Why is it saying client 4 ?
2) More importantly why is this being rejected.

I have no such problem if I use the cable in the lan port eth0 or the
Netgear card as wlan0.

I have setup the ATMEL card to run on eth1.

Whats going wrong ?

Thanks
