ok im having another problem now, whenever i put a cd in it doesnt mount.
when i click on the icon on the desktop it comes up with

mount: can't find /mnt/cdrom in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

thought it was weird seeing i just installed it ill have a look around for
the solution, jsut thought that someone might have had the same problem and
could give a hint.

thanks

what devices/mount points are listed in your fstab file. Maybe your cdrom
is not listed to be mounted on startup.
