siocifflags error 3C905 100BaseTX

NIC: 3C905 100BaseTX (Boomerang) (etho)
OS: FC 1
Error: cannot activate network device eth0. Determining IP information
failed. siocifflags error.
I´ve got a 4-port ADSL router and three PC´s with FC1. One machine is
configured through DHCP and now I´m trying to get the other one to
connect too.
I also tried to manually assign an IP address and although this seems to
work at first, I cannot connect to the internet. I pinged my router with
this manual configuration and it said: destination host unreachable.
Help kindly requested.

Thanks very much. I disabled the kudzu thingy and that worked fine!
