Hello,
I heard of a package called rhgb which will get rid of the ugly
technogarbage on bootup..... is this true? Where can I get hold of it? I
googled a little bit, but with no results.....

Just use Fedora Core instead of the "end of lifetime reached" RH9.

I just put in the CD and it refuses to simply upgrade, moaning about some
libraries or something, so in the meantime..... how do I get rhgb for my
puter?

You might try to install the rhgb RPM of Fedora.

Where do I find it? I've looked and looked..... every RPM is for
Fedora....

Oops sorry, I just got your message, I misread last time, my apologies -
no, the rhgb RPM on the FC1 CD doesnt install. Any other suggestions?

You might try your luck by rebuilding the rhgb SRPM.
