power down/up ethernet port ?

are there any tools that would allow me to power off/on an ethernet port ?

Ron,
What do you mean? Take off-line or turn the electrical power off/on?
The first can be done by ifconfig eth0 down/up, the latter I do not know.

| I need to be able to turn link integrity off on the port, so
complete power down.
any ideas ?
I know this works on PCMCIA cards.
