Hi.

How do I change what user / group a file / directory belongs to?

I assume (please correct me) that a file / directory can only be "owned" by
1 user and/or 1 group - unlike Windows where a file can be owned by many
different people or groups. I guess therefore that shared rights must
really be by carefully assigned group-user associations?

I now understand how chmod works based on the binary "421" method which is
fine - having spent quite some time trying to find out how it works!

Is there a redhat GUI tool to allow rights changing AKA windows rather than
bashing it all?!

Many thanks
Richard
